The role played by the private sector in improving the local business atmosphere is important, said Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Minister of State for Services Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan Monday.

In his speech to the fifth dialogue on open business atmosphere, organized by Kuwait Chamber for Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), minister Al-Roudhan said that various laws and legislations were implemented to improve the business atmosphere in Kuwait, noting that amongst the laws were the ones connected with exchange of credit data and commercial registration.

Countries are now racing to improve their business atmosphere indices, indicated the minister, affirming that the launch of the Kuwait Business Center (KBC) was one of the positive steps taken by the state towards a better business atmosphere.

He commended the role played by KDIPA to attract investments to Kuwait, adding that such policy will improve overall business in the country.

On his part, KDIPA’s Director General Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah stressed the importance of holding events to encourage dialogue on business atmosphere improvement.
The current event focuses on the 2019 report on business atmosphere, said KDIPA’s Director who hoped that the data in the 2020 report would show vast improvements in the business atmosphere in Kuwait.
