The Indian Community School, Kuwait (ICSK) Khaitan organized the most exuberant celebration and fun filled day on its premises with third season of ‘Salaam Kuwait, Namaste India’ on 6 December.

A colorful and vibrant procession representing the cultural heritage of India and Kuwait opened the ceremony. The school principal K.G. Shirsath warmly welcomed the chief guest Mr. T. A. Sekhar, former Indian cricketer. It was a matter of pride for ICSK Khaitan to have its alumni Ruqya Khan, the S.M.I.L.E. Strategist as guest of honor and Amitabh Ranjan Second Secretary, Education and Community affairs, Embassy of India to  Kuwait, as the special guest of the day. “Individually, we are one drop, together we are an ocean.” This maxim stood true while the Board of Trustees of ICSK and principals and vice principals of all branches joined together at the ceremony. The releasing of the balloon by Hon. Chairman Shaik Abdul Rahiman with guests marked the opening of the carnival.

In his address, the Hon. Secretary to the ICSK board Mr. Amer stressed on the importance of inculcating Indo-Kuwait culture among students as part of education and to preserve our values. ‘The Odyssey of ICSK’, to the school’s accomplished Diamond Jubilee, magnificently commemorated the eventful 60 years with a dance drama by students and teachers.

The carnival included a variety of stalls for games, art and craft corners, jewelry, clothing, face painting, mehndi, robotic exhibition and many more. Various food stalls offered up delicious samplings of food.

Various entertainment shows exceptionally performed by parents, students, kids and multifarious organizations added special excitement to the day. The Arabic band, Tannura dance, horse dance and the violin concert by the Kuwaiti Artist Abdul Aziz were the special Arabian treats to the audience along with the exclusive very famous ‘Jabardasth’ comedy show by the Telugu TV stars.

Many dance academies from Kuwait rocked the stage, while an interschool fashion show thrilled spectators.  A bumper raffle draw concluded the event.
