King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) launched, in Dhahran Monday evening, a series of activities to mark Kuwait National Day, with the headquarters colored with Kuwait and Saudi flags, as well as leaders of the two countries.
Ithra had announced a series of events, celebrations, and activities between February 25 and March 2 to commemorate Kuwait’s National Days.
The events and activities will shed light on Kuwaiti cultural heritage, as well as highlighting various aspects of Kuwaiti art and culture, Ithra said.In collaboration with the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, Ithra will host the first-ever theatrical musical performance “Where are you heading this evening? The 80s Show” outside Kuwait, taking the audience back to Kuwait’s iconic television programs in the 1980s.
Ithra will also organize “Poetry Diwaniyah,” recital interactive sessions of national and folklore poems by some of the renowned Kuwaiti poets and writers, and in participation with the visitors.
Other activities include Sadou workshop, in which children are taught the basics of traditional wool weaving in a modern learning environment, and how to make beautiful wool medallions that they can then take home as souvenirs.
