Kuwaiti Ambassador to Serbia Yousef Abdulsamad received mourners

Kuwaiti Ambassador to Serbia Yousef Abdulsamad said Kuwait’s Embassy in Belgrade opened its doors to receive mourners of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for three days. He extended his deepest condolences to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti government and people. In a phone call with KUNA on Saturday, Abdulsamad said that Serbian officials attended to extend their condolences, including representative of the Serbian President, deputy parliament speaker Vladimir Marinkovic and minister of state for foreign affairs.

It was also attended by heads of diplomatic delegations, as well as Arab and Muslim groups, he added. The ambassador noted that the embassy also provided a choice for mourners to extend their condolences through email or phone call due to the coronavirus situation. Serbian media all agreed that the passing away of Sheikh Sabah is a great loss, and they wrote and spoke of his great international humanitarian achievements and his efforts to end conflicts peacefully, he said. He added that Serbia’s Muslim group held a prayer on the soul of His Highness the late Amir after Friday prayers.
