Prosecutor’s Office has ordered the remand of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem for 21 days at the Central Prison pending his trial, in the case of verbally abusing and threatening Lt.Col. Saleh Al-Rashed of the General Traffic Department of the Capital Governorate.

The detention follows the completion of investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office and after receiving incriminating evidence against the Sheikh, including a voice recording of him threatening the officer for not completing an illegal transaction.

The Sheikh’s defense team is expected to appeal the remand order before the Criminal Court and request an early hearing of the case. The defendant is charged with threatening a public official, insulting and defaming the plaintiff and misusing the phone.
