Super foods for strong hair

Unfortunately with our present environment and pollution, having healthy shining and strong hair is not always possible.  Bacteria accumulating at the roots can weaken your hair and make it fall. Not only girls suffer from the effects but guys as well.

That is why proper nutrition, balanced diet and good hair care (regular treatment, shampoo, and conditioning) are necessary to ensure strong, long and shiny hair. However, not all foods are good for your hair.  You need to choose the right and best food. Let us start.

Salmon and oily fish: One of the main protein our body uses to make hair is Keratin. That is why a diet rich in that protein is a must.  Salmon, tuna and fish are the prime lean protein loaded in keratin. Salmon is packed with omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin B12 and iron that boost the blood flow and promote hair growth. Oysters are also good as they have zinc in them that helps make your hair shiny.

Nuts and walnuts:  These two specific kinds of nuts are packed with zinc, magnesium, selenium, Omega 3 fatty acids, and vitamin E. All these vitamins and minerals are a great remedy for your hair to grow fast naturally. Regular intake of nuts and walnuts will also prevent your hair from shedding and improve the health of your scalp.

Dark green leafy vegetables: Sebum is the oily substance secreted by our hair follicles which works like natural hair conditioner. It is mainly present in all dark leafy vegetables like spinach, rocket, leek and parsley. These foods are also rich in iron that increase the blood flow.

Whole eggs: Eggs are extremely rich in sulphur, zinc, iron, selenium, phosphorous iodine and magnesium.They also contain Vitamin B-1, B-2, B-12, biotin and choline. All these nutrients are essential and very important for the overall health of your hair

Carrots:  Carrots are rich in vitamin A and carotenoids, which promote good scalp and make hair follicles healthy. You can add them to your salads, as a side dish or even drink them as a juice.

Along with all these super food suggestions, do not forget to drink enough water, as I always suggest two Litres per day. It really helps all of your body systems to function in a proper way and to keep your skin and hair looking healthy.

Also, be sure to consume less caffeine, fat and simple sugar as they can prevent your hair follicles from working efficiently. Do not rely on food supplements; instead make sure you have a well-balanced diet to maintain your health.
