UNHCR hails Kuwait’s humanitarian efforts

Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society Hilal Al-Sayer meets head of UN High Commissioner for Refugees office Samir Hadadin.

The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Kuwait hailed the country’s prominent humanitarian role around the world.

The remarks were made to KUNA by the head of the office Samir Hadadin on Sunday, after his meeting with Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Hilal Al-Sayer.

Hadadin expressed his appreciation for KRCS’s humanitarian efforts and programs, adding that this is his first visit to the society. The meeting discussed boosting cooperation between the two sides on both regional and international levels, he said.

On his part, Al-Sayer said KRCS and UNHCR will continue coordinating in humanitarian work and rescue operations, as well as organizing workshops and training courses in the field.
