The Environmental Police have arrested an unidentified person for ‘hunting’ for falcons inside the Sabah Al-Ahmad Nature Reserve.

The Al-Rai has learned the suspect entered the reserve by ‘punching’ a hole in the fence.

When the man was confronted, personnel from the Environmental Police Department found in his the falcon.

The falcon had been returned to the Reserve, the vehicle has been impounded and the man has been referred to the competent authorities.

The Public Relations and Security Media Department at the Ministry of Interior stated hunting falcons and endangered bird species is prohibited according to international conventions.
