The Ministries of Health, Interior, Foreign Affairs and Finance, in addition to the Public Authority for Manpower, are understood to have reached a consensus on issuing visas to recruit new domestic workers from abroad.

The recommendation of the five government entities have been forwarded to the Cabinet for its consideration and approval. This move comes following Kuwaiti families experiencing difficulties in finding domestic helpers, as many workers are unwilling to return and there is a dire need for such workers in the country.

The Council of Ministers is expected to consider the recommendations favorably and an appropriate mechanism for issuing new visas to hire domestic workers is likely to be approved soon.
