US President Donald Trump wishes a speedy recovery for his friend, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and hopes to welcome him in Washington once again upon his recovery, a White House statement read on Sunday.

This comes after Trump was informed that His Highness the Amir of Kuwait was forced to postpone their September 12 talks at the White House after being admitted to hospital for medical check-ups, the White House added in a statement.

His Highness the Amir is a highly revered leader, who has been a tremendous partner for the US in tackling the region’s challenges, it said.
